WHOSE PANTS ARE THESE AND WOULD YOU BUY THEM?

FAMOUS PANTS FOR SALE! There is a kinda Cushing connectionl They were once involved in a very cloak and dagger scenario.... so who do you think wore them and in what Peter Cushing movie??? Answers and suggestions are being asked for over at the FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE right now  . . .

PETER CUSHING AS CHRISTOPHER MAITLAND... yup that surname again, in an Amicus film... in 'The Skull' (1965). The director Freddie Francis often said that Subotsky's screenplay for The Skull, was when he received it, little more than just a story outline. Much of the dialogue, of which there was far less, than the usual Amicus film, was devised on set, along with blocking of the action. Subotsky wasn't a lover of dialogue laden scripts.

HERE ARE TWO EXCELLENT reviews complete with great image and photograph galleries from Peter Cushing's `1965 Amicus film, 'THE SKULL'  HERE  and  HERE!

PCAS actually owns a copy of the Francis, Robert Bloch script... there are many pages of notes and added dialogue in Francis handwriting. The additions made it one of Amicus films best movies, wonderful roles for the cast and for Cushing, a really dramatic character opportunity, in which he shines.... Is 'The Skull', one of your Top 5 Amicus films?

WHOSE COAT IS THAT JACKET??? CHRISTOPHER LEE'S 'LONG SHADOWS' JACKET FINDS HOME

NEWS: Whose Coat, Is That Jacket??! You may remember that we reported on a story about the jacket that Christopher Lee wore as Corrigan in 'The House of the Long Shadows' was coming up for auction?

Well, HERE IT IS! Out of auction and looking very grand in it's show case. "For the moment, it's housed in the "Galerie Werkstatt", a very beautiful and well-frequented venue, art centre and restaurant near Cologne", our friend Gerd Pohl tells us. We applaud and congratulate the mangers of the Gelerie Werkstatt, for making the jacket accessible to the public and fans alike, so often items are whipped up by private collectors, never to been seen again...! I am very grateful to Gerd Pohl for providing us with these great photographs! A happy end to the story....

NEWS: CUSHING SMOKING JACKET FROM AMICUS HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD UP FOR SALE

NEWS: If you've ever had the whim to re-enact Peter Cushing's terrifying 'Waxworks Nightmare' scene from the Amicus film, 'The House That Dripped Blood' in the comfort of your own living room...or you are looking for that genuine one off piece of Cushing costume memorabilia to really top your collection... this maybe just what you're looking for!

This week, Tuesday 21st April, Peter Cushing's smoking jacket costume from 'The House That Dripped Blood' was put up for sale at The Luke Honey Stand 115 at Battersea Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair.

Here is their description of the smoking jacket:

"This splendid scarlet coloured wool smoking jacket belonged to Peter Cushing, star of both stage and screen. We think it came from the actor’s personal wardrobe (rather than a studio costume department) and is tailored by Simpson’s of Piccadilly, He most certainly wore it in the 1960’s BBC television adaption of Sherlock Holmes, and latterly, the 1971 Amicus horror flick, “The House that Dripped Blood”. We’re selling it with full provenance, certificate of authenticity and a BBC press still showing Peter Cushing wearing it on camera."

I spoke with Stephanie Connell from Connell Art and Antiques and the owner of the jacket a few minutes ago and as of 5.00pm today (Monday 27th April 2015) it hasn't found a buyer. Stephanie told me, 'We offered the jacket at the fair with an asking ticket price of £2,500, however it remained unsold. Therefore if anyone out there would like to make an offer for the jacket or receive more information relating to its provenance do let me know.'

Soooo..If your distant Aunty Mary has just left you a bundle in her will. If you've just had windfall..or you would just love to own a most stylish piece of Peter Cushing, Amicus, BBC Sherlock Holmes history... here is your chance!
